Opportunity image

This role will provide the volunteer with the experience of living and working on one of the RSPB's premier and oldest reserves. Working with the team across a range of habitats in a very varied role from grassland to reedbed and vegetated shingle we can guarantee this role holder will be immersed in this wonderful reserve.

We are looking for someone to volunteer with us for 6-12 months with accommodation included. This role will provide the candidate with the practical skills and species/habitat knowledge required to undertake a practical reserve role in the UK. Some training is provided and the exact courses can be discussed upon interview. It is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to take their first step into the conservation sector

This role will also provide the opportunity to occasionally help out at our sister site on Worth Marshes, one of the most exciting nature reserves in the country.

Due to the remote location of the reserve, the successful candidate must be comfortable living in a remote location and hold a valid UK driving licence.

There is no charge to take part in the scheme. It is your responsibility to cover the cost of your transport to and from the reserve, and to provide and cover the cost of your food during your stay. The RSPB will provide accommodation, together with basic services, free of charge for the period you are volunteering, and cover any expenses incurred as a necessary part of your work on the reserve
