An opportunity to help in shaping the future taking an active role leading a small but dedicated team of Community Park Rangers to manage and promote the natural environment within our public green space network.

 

 

 

About the job

The post will be based at Forest Farm Conservation Centre, but will involve working across the city. 

As a member of a dynamic team, reporting to the Conservation and Community Development Manager you will engage with local communities and volunteers in supporting the promotion and management of the natural environment within parks and open spaces, nature reserves and woodlands and working with partner organisations to deliver community focussed outdoor environmental activities.

 

 

What We Are Looking For From You

You will need to be driven, flexible and adaptable in what will be a challenging role where priorities can change quickly. You will need experience of working in an environmental field in an outdoor environment. You will need to be confident in engaging with people from a wide range of backgrounds., be able to able to lead events, environmental education and other conservation activities in all weathers.

You will also require excellent organisational skills, and an ability to communicate with people at all levels. You must be IT literate. Above all, you must have a “can-do” attitude, be able to solve problems under your own initiative, and be able to initiate and prioritise your own work to react to the demands of the team.

Additional information

It is a requirement of this job to have a full and valid driving licence.
