Ecological Contracting Assistants

ECOSA are currently looking for Ecological Contracting Assistants to help deliver our busy schedule over the coming summer season. The work could involve assisting with any of the following tasks:

  • Installation of temporary and permanent reptile fencing;
  • Artificial badger sett design and construction;
  • Badger sett exclusion;
  • Vegetation clearance; and
  • Creation of reptile / great crested newt hibernacula .

No prior experience is required; however, this is a physically demanding job which will require outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions, settings and locations. Applicants with prior experience in fencing installation, chainsaw and brushcutter ticket holders and / or experienced sub-contractors are particularly welcomed. A CSCS card and a trailer licence (B + E) are also desirable.

For the above works, you will need to be based in Hampshire or the adjoining counties and ideally be within travelling distance of our head office in Hampshire.

We generally work on projects across the South; however, you may be required to travel further afield and stay in accommodation overnight. Having your own transport and holding a full driving licence is therefore essential.

Positions are offered on a casual basis dependent on workloads and the projects we require assistance with. Rates of pay are hourly and subject to experience.
