An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Public Rights of Way and Country Parks Leadership Team as the Senior Officer with specific responsibility for the management of legal and development matters relating to public rights of way and access.An accomplished and experienced graduate, you will be confident in this role in managing, developing and promoting the County’s network of over 5000km Public Rights of Way in order to encourage healthier lifestyles and improve access to recreation and other facilities, and ensuring that the legal record of public rights of way is managed and kept up-to-date.A key area of focus will be an ability to provide expert advice on public rights of way legislation and working practices to a wide range of internal and external partners, and the public. You will be responsible for leading on policies, processes and guidance in response to the impacts of development on public rights of way and access, including securing improvements.You will lead a team of specialist officers responsible for reviewing and updating the definitive map of public rights of way, maintaining and developing geographical information systems, reviewing the rights of way improvement plan and engaging with stakeholders through a variety of means including Devon’s Countryside Access Forum and Public Paths Partnership scheme.Interviews are scheduled for 16 or 17 AugustFor an informal discussion, please contact Joe Deasy (01392) 383000 or Richard Walton 01392 383000
