The job 

An opportunity has arisen in the Community Safety team with Community Services for a Community Safety Support Officer. The successful applicant will be a part of a team of three, supporting the Safer Communities Manager.   

You will get involved in a range of cases interacting with residents who may be experiencing Antisocial Behaviour (ASB) issues with their neighbours or within their community and will be required to record and maintain data records accordingly and make initial contact for further investigation, in support of the Community Safety Officers. 

You will also be involved with children in schools in our annual safety focused projects (Think Safe and Stay Safe); and, with members of the public at community engagement events throughout the year to promote the support Community Safety can provide as well as promoting wider Community Services. 

The applicant 

The key responsibilities for the role of Community Safety Support Officer are as follows: 

  • Experience of working in a public facing and interactive role 
  • An understanding of enforcement work 
  • Implicit understanding of confidentiality and matters of a sensitive nature 
  • Willingness to work across services and with partner agencies
