Are you an inspiring leader with a track record in managing operations?

We are seeking an outstanding Centre Manager who is able to deliver a positive future for Arundel Wetland Centre and its team of dedicated staff and volunteers, its visitors and supporters.

About Us

WWT Arundel Wetland Centre is an inspiring environmental visitor attraction in Sussex, a place where visitors can experience wildlife up close among beautiful natural habitats of lakes, ponds and reed beds; go on a boat ride to get close to nature, have fun in our play area, or just enjoy a coffee and cake in our café with stunning views of the wetlands and South Downs beyond. Open 7 days a week the centre attracts more than 90,000 visitors a year to enjoy a great day out and be inspired to support wetland conservation.

The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) is the UK’s leading wetland conservation charity. We protect, restore and create healthy wetlands, and help bring people closer to nature. We are pioneers in saving wetland wildlife, both in the UK and around the world. At our 10 UK sites around a million visitors a year engage with wetland nature. We work internationally in key global wetland areas, balancing conservation with sustainable livelihoods and influencing national and international conservation policies.

The Role

As our Centre Manager you will drive the centre to achieve ambitious financial, conservation and visitor engagement strategies. You will continue to develop a multi-talented team of highly motivated staff and volunteers and focus on attracting a growing number of visitors and supporters, providing them with an unforgettable experience on each and every visit.

Leading from the front you’ll play a key role in making developments happen and support a dedicated team who are delivering across a broad range of operational areas to ensure that our wetland centre is welcoming, relevant to our audiences and financially sustainable.

About You

  • Successful operations experience, ideally within a visitor attraction
  • Amazing coaching skills and your ability to manage and support a team
  • Experience of developing and implementing financial management plans
  • Your ability to adapt, drive change and identify and develop opportunities
  • You’re a great communicator both internally and with the public including the local authority and government officials.

In return for your hard work and dedication you’ll enjoy a wide range of benefits including:

  • Contributory pension scheme (conditions apply)
  • Life assurance
  • Free car parking
  • Cycle to work scheme
