Further Information
Hartlepool is a vibrant and energetic town with growing prospects. As an authority we want to make Hartlepool the best it possibly can be and want dedicated, driven and committed staff to help us achieve that.

We are seeking an experienced Ecologist, looking for a new career development opportunity.

The borough is bordered on the east by the North Sea with much of the coast recognised as internationally important for its bird species and protected as a Special Protection Area site. Inland is a rolling agricultural landscape interspersed with a number of small and fragmented, but nevertheless diverse and important, wildlife habitats including 6 Local Nature Reserves and 52 non-statutory Local Sites.

Based within the Heritage and Countryside Service this post offers an opportunity for a suitably experienced individual to work alongside other disciplines to deliver a comprehensive ecology service. You will play a key role in reviewing planning applications and advising on policy.

You will need to be able to work independently yet be a team player with excellent communication skills. You will be qualified to a degree level in ecology or a related environmental discipline with experience of working with statutory agencies and developers.

Part-time working may be considered.
