Medway Norse is one of the biggest joint ventures within Norse Group, partnering with Medway Council to deliver a growing number of frontline public services to residents. The business portfolio is including to develop as further services are provided across waste, building maintenance and countryside management.

Our Grounds team support a growing number of sites across the surrounding area, and we are currently recruiting for a Grounds Team Leader to work across Medway. 

In this role you will be leading several small teams that deliver grounds maintenance services for our local authority partner, and you will primarily be responsible for ensuring the services delivered meet the agreed expectation.

Planning coordinating and implementing a range of grounds maintenance including burial services for the team will be a key part of the role, and you will also ensure that the work is completed to the required standard. Where needed, you will support with the operational delivery of the service, alongside providing training and guidance to the team to ensure they develop.

Our Successful Candidate:

We will be looking for you to demonstrate a combination of commercial experience and industry knowledge for the role, highlighted by; 

  • Qualification in Turfculture, Horticulture or a similar discipline 
  • Significant experience in a multi-faceted grounds maintenance position
  • COTS Institution of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM) or willing to undergo training
  • Management, supervisory or team leader experience 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Ability to deliver a high level of customer service 
  • Full UK Driving Licence to meet the travel requirements of the role
