Part Time - 29.6 hours per week (0.8 FTE)
To lead on delivery of the Managing Big Problems in Small Places project within the catchment of the River Culm. This forms a catchment based delivery element of the Devon-wide Managing Big Problems in Small Places (MBPiSP) project, led by Devon County Council.
This multi-million pound project runs up to 2027, forming one of 25 Flood & Coastal Resilience Innovation Programme (FCRIP) pilots nationally, funded by Defra.

There are four work packages in the MBPiSP project and 25 cross-cutting pilot activities across Devon (this pilot in the Culm catchment is one of the 25). The postholder will be expected to split their time primarily across two of these four work packages;
The Culm catchment is 100 square miles and flows from the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) on the Devon/Somerset border, through Cullompton town and down to Exeter. Alongside MBPiSP, there is an existing ongoing partnership project which aims to work with people and nature to make the whole Culm catchment more resilient to climate change, called Connecting the Culm, see www.connectingtheculm.com. This role is about delivering MBPiSP in a small number of small sub-catchments and communities within the Culm, and will work closely with the wider Connecting the Culm team to capitalise on the existing stakeholder engagement, analysis, and other work done to date in the catchment.
