About the Post:
We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified
and experienced environmental community officer. You will be based at
Worsbrough Mill delivering a biodiversity project funded by the National
Lottery Heritage Fund.
Worsbrough Mill has secured almost £100k worth
of funding to support walking and wildlife in the stunning Country Park and
local nature reserve.
Visitors can expect to see new signposts and
interpretation boards along existing walking routes that will provide further information about the vast array
of wildlife that inhabits the Country Park; they will also be able to enjoy
three new accessible walking routes that will offer new ways of exploring the
area.
Work will also be undertaken to restore Green Flag
status to the site, re-establish four important habitats in the Country Park,
which will support seven priority species - as well as developing many long
term volunteering opportunities.
The project is just one of many exciting plans for
the historic and well-loved site, all of which will hugely improve the visitor
experience.
The successful candidate will be qualified to
degree level, be able to demonstrate experience of working on environmental
programmes similar to this, have experience of working with volunteers and
enjoy working outdoors.
