We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to assist with the continued development and management of our nature reserve.

The reserve covers 26 hectares and consists of reedbed, wet grassland, fen, ponds, ditches, woodland and hedgerows, all of which take careful management and maintenance in order that they continue to provide a home for diverse wildlife including water vole, dormouse, kingfishers, bats and wildfowl.

In this role you will take full responsibility for day to day operations such as vegetation cutting and repair work to fences, boardwalks and hides. You will also be expected to deputise for the Senior Reserve Warden when required and assist with the supervision and training of our volunteers, to ensure that all reserve and website information is monitored, accurate and up to date.

The successful candidate will be educated to A-level standard or equivalent with previous nature conservation, land management or agricultural experience.  Excellent communication skills and supervisory experience are also essential to the role.

The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) is a conservation charity that protects wetlands for wildlife and people. We conserve, restore and create wetlands. We are pioneers in saving wetland wildlife, both in the UK and around the world. At our 10 UK sites over a million visitors a year engage with wetland nature. We work internationally in key global wetland areas, balancing conservation with sustainable livelihoods and influencing national and international conservation policies.

In return for your hard work and dedication you’ll enjoy a wide range of benefits including:
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays increasing to 30 days after 5 years’ service
- Contributory pension scheme (conditions apply)
- Life assurance
- Free parking
- Cycle to work scheme
